We all love our pets whether it be a dog, a cat or whatever our pet may be, we love it.
My pet or should I say it like it is, My Baby Boy is a dog. He is a weenie dog but they call him by another name. I can not spell it but I will give it a try. It goes something like this “Dash Hound” and I am not sure if it is spelled right but if not I gave it a shot.
No matter what our pet is it requires a balanced nutritional diet in order to keep it healthy and free of diseases.
I know that my dog, by the way his name is Rowdy, needs a nutritional diet in order to stay healthy and be able to fight off the different canine diseases that exist.
I used to give Rowdy cans of dogs and poodle in malaysia food. I was thinking that I was giving him the best nutritional and balanced diet I could possibly give, but I noticed he started acting like he was never full. He just kept eating and eating plus gaining a lot of weight.
When we went outside he would run continuously so I wondered why he was gaining so much weight even though he was eating a lot of his dogs and kitten nutrition food. He was running just here and there and everywhere. He is a very active dog.
Then one day I noticed something was eating my squash plants. I blamed the different animals that would come up during the night for my squash plants being eaten but then I realized it was my dog, Rowdy. He was eating my squash plants.
I have always heard that if a dog eats grass he is lacking something in his diet but I have never heard about a dog eating squash plants. So I got to thinking that Rowdy must be lacking something in his diet in order to be eating my squash plants. He was not bothering any of my other plants just my squash plants.
I did a search on zucchini, summer squash. I also did a search on the vitamins and minerals which dogs need. I found out that most of the vitamins and minerals in the squash were what he was needing and apparently he was not getting them in the store bought food I was feeding him.
The vitamins and minerals in the summer squash is: Potassium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Calcium, Sodium, Iron, Manganese, Selenium, Zinc and Copper. Summer squash also contains small amounts of other minerals.
Here are the vitamins summer squash contains plus some other vitamins in small amounts: Vitamin C, Niacin, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, Pantothenic Acid, Folate, Vitamin A, Vitamin K and Vitamin E.
Here is a list of some of the vitamins and minerals that your dog should have in its diet: Vitamins A, D, E, B-complex, Biotin, Calcium, Choline, Iron, Copper, Folic Acid, Iodine, Magnesium, Niacin, Manganese, Pantothenic Acid, Phosphorus, Potassium, Selenium, Sodium Chloride and Zinc.
Of course these are not all but you should certainly be putting these in your dogs food along with fresh meat, vegetables and grain. This is a healthy natural diet that is better than anything you can buy from the store.
When I saw the similarities of the vitamins and minerals in the summer squash and what a healthy diet for a dog consist of is when I decided to make my own dog food.
Since I feed Rowdy a nutritious and healthy homemade diet I know he is getting everything he needs and not getting anything which is not healthy or could harm him.
Oh by the way Rowdy does not eat my summer squash plants anymore. He is getting everything he needs in his homemade dog food diet.
